BP is an active member of RTDNA (Radio, Television & Digital News Association), an Edward R. Murrow Awards Judge, former Mid-Atlantic Chair of the National Press Photographers Association and a former board member of the Northern Short Course In Photojournalism. There, he was named Illinois Photographer of the Year an unprecedented 11 times, and was part of the Tribune team that won a 2007 Pulitzer Prize in Investigative Reporting. His work has appeared in National Geographic and Sports Illustrated. He now works at the San Francisco Chronicle.
